Before embarking on your staycation, hire a cleaning service to make sure that your home is somewhere you actually want to be. A neat and tidy apartment sets the perfect mood for relaxing and enjoying all the convenience and coziness of home. Buy flowers, light candles, etc.

Setting the mood like you’re arriving at a hotel or bed and breakfast can make your space feel different than it normally does. Buy some flowers (Trader Joe’s has some excellent prices), light a candle or two, or play music depending on your mood.

Gone are the days when you had to leave the house for services like massages, haircuts, and manicures. No leaving required.

Order in

Unless you like cooking (in which case you should totally make yourself an EPIC meal), order in from your favorite restaurant using services like Postmates, GrubHub, or Seamless. City adventure

If spending all your time inside isn’t your cup of tea, take advantage of living in a city with tons of things to do. See a movie, take yourself out to eat, or spend time touring places that you might not normally see like museums.
