Our Favorite Summer Farmers Markets

07-19-2018

One of the best parts about living in a Midwest metropolis like Chicago is that we still have access to fresh locally grown produce at farmers markets. They give us a wonderful opportunity to engage with our neighborhood community and support nutritious, locally grown foods.  Here are our favorites in your neighborhoods offering delicious veggies, meats, cheeses and baked goods all summer long!

Andersonville Farmers Market

Every Wednesday this charming market is hopping! All items sold at the market are grown, raised or made within 200 miles and they emphasize sustainably grown fresh ingredients. Purchasing your goods is simple too, as the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce booth can now process your credit/debit card in exchange for tokens that you can use throughout the market! “B” sure to check out  Gotta B Crepes , one of the many new vendors for the best savory and sweet crepes, with something for every bruncher’s palate! The Andersonville Farmers Market runs until August 29th from 3:00-8:00pm and then continues until October 17th from 3:00-7:00pm. Visit the website for a full list of vendors.

Green City Market

Green City Market’s outdoor season is May through October, with vendors setting up in Lincoln Park every Wednesday and Saturday from 7:00am-1:00pm. The market is located at the south end of Lincoln Park between Clark and Stockton Drive. Just steps away from our  Park Fullerton by Reside  location, Green City Market is Chicago’s largest and first year-round sustainable farmers market. The brainchild of Abby Mandel, chef, author, and entrepreneur, this farmers market is inspired by the sustainable markets she visited in Europe. They also offer a  West Loop  market that operates June through October every Saturday from 8:00am-1:00pm.
