Reside ::: Home Page

Reside reduces its impact on the environment by building and operating its buildings responsibly. We use building standards that include energy controls on HVAC systems, install double-glazed, low-E windows, use low-emitting materials in carpeting, flooring and paint, and utilize water efficient fixtures and drip systems. Our building practices reduce waste and rely on energy-friendly design such as reflective roofing to minimize the heat island effect common in urban areas.

Responsible development is key to sustainability. Reside believes in restoring existing buildings in the Chicago area and reusing materials whenever possible. This practice is important not only because of the environmental benefits, but it also preserves the character of the neighborhood and community. Our apartments feature Energy Star appliances, double-glazed windows and renewable and recyclable materials in flooring, countertops and more.

All Reside buildings have recycling programs to help residents recycle common materials such as paper, plastic and metal containers; as well as electronics, books and larger items. And if there is not a regularly scheduled pick-up for a specific type of item, residents simply need ask the Reside team and we’ll see what we can do.

Reside has streamlined and greened the leasing process by placing leasing paperwork onto USB thumb drives, our compliments of course. We’ve also refined the communication between our residents and our leasing team by using online maintenance and concierge programs, offering online rent payment and other online services.

The monthly Reside responsibly resident e-newsletter offers tips on sustainable and environmentally friendly living. From tips on green cleaning supplies, energy reduction and resources available to residents through Reside and other community organizations.

All Reside buildings are situated within walking distance to mass transit lines to minimize the need to drive. Reside also provides amenities on a community-by-community basis that support alternative transportation such as bike storage and car sharing.
